snom technology AG has joined Compatible Devices Program for Microsoft Lync 2010
The snom 300 uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for VoIP communications. This dedication to a standards-based protocol makes the snom 300 interoperable with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 while also retaining all of its standards-based SIP features.
“We have been keenly focused on interoperability in all our products since our inception, so integrating the snom 300 and its fourth generation SIP firmware with Office Communications Server 2007 R2, one of the fastest growing business unified communications platforms in the world, was natural for us,” said Dr. Christian Stredicke, founder and ceo, snom technology. “To have Microsoft test the snom 300 represents a promising first step, and we look forward to working together to accelerate the deployment of Microsoft OCS across enterprise office environments in the coming months.”
The snom 300 is the company’s most widely-deployed IP-based desktop business phone, providing traditional business telephony functions in addition to advanced functionality such as multiple lines, programmable keys, backup failover line identities, low power consumption, maintaining superior voice quality at a reasonable price.
“This product testing with Microsoft is a great reference point for our resellers and distributors who are constantly looking for high-quality, affordable components that can speed the adoption of unified communications in the workplace,” explained Dr. Michael Knieling, executive vice president of marketing and sales, snom technology. “We hope to continue our work with all our technology partners, including Microsoft, to make snom phones the most effective endpoints for advanced business telephony systems.”
“Microsoft is pleased to have snom join the rapidly-growing set of companies delivering hardware and software products that are compatible with Microsoft Lync 2010,”said Warren Barkley, director of product engineering, Microsoft Lync. “Our customers benefit from the innovation, choice and value that only a truly open approach can provide.”
